Elite Grand School envisages becoming one of the leading schools in the country through laying foundations of knowledge, professionalism and technical commitment. The school encourages children to be grown as a responsible leader of the family, society and the world. For this, they need to understand their role and responsibility for a community, society and their country; respect and accept the differences between people. More specifically, they need to be aware about equality which ensures individuals are treated fairly and equally, no matter of their race, gender, age, disability, religion or sexual orientation. Children need to understand diversity is about recognising and respecting these differences to create an all-inclusive atmosphere.
Promoting equality and diversity in education is essential for both teachers and students. With the aim of encouraging children respect diversity we arranged a short visit to BIA Foundation, Jorpati on 13/08/2017 for the students of Grade V, VI and VII. BIA Foundation (http://bia-foundation.org/) supports and train people with different forms of disability and help them build a platform to earn their livelihood themselves. The main aim of this trip was to create an environment where our students can respect and understand that individual characteristics make people unique and not ‘different’ in a negative way.
