Field trips are a vital part of the school curriculum as they proffer students with necessary experience that cannot be imitated within the school setting.
A day long school trip was organized on 6th July 2017 Tuesday to Chandragiri Hills in the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley. It was a fun filled trip away from school and home where students had the opportunity to learn in a totally different environment. The thrill of going on a cable car onto the hills cannot be expressed in words the joy of driving through thick fog hoping to catch a glimpse of the entire Kathmandu Valley and its beauty surrounding the valley, brought curiosity in each child’s face. Chandragiri Hills which lies 2551 meters from sea level and the ride in the cable car from the station to the top of the steep hill covered with forest was breath taking. The ratio of teachers and children was 1:7 in one cable car.
Everything was well managed and the excitement in the children was building up their curiosity to reach the hills. Once everybody reached the hill, the children were mesmerized by the surroundings. As they rested they started eating their snacks. Though it was drizzling and foggy the excitement took away the rain and fog. After the snacks we started climbing more up where there was a temple of Bhaleshwor Mahadev. The children all paid their homage at the temple and started playing in the fun park. The children cherished each moment that they spent on the hill.
Finally, it was time for us to head back to school. We all came down and again had snacks and back to where we started our trip. The panoramic view of the Himalayan range makes any one feel like one is in heaven!
